TONING

Using the unique Pilates Studio equipment, we can encourage your body to achieve the flexibility you deserve. The springs can either assist or resist the movements for best results.
LENGTHENING
We achieve better posture by focussing on your body length whilst performing the exercises. Most of my clients finish the session feeling and looking taller.
What We Offer
I start any series of sessions with a new client with the Polestar Fitness Screening. This fitness screening helps me get a better understanding of how they move. From this, we mutually agree on a program with clear goals.
Planned sessions follow to either meet those goals or to meet specific needs on that day.
My sessions are one-to-one Pilates Studio and Mat sessions utilizing the equipment invented by Joseph Pilates.
The equipment I use is a Reformer, Trapeze Table, Chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector and a variety of rollers, balls, foam blocks and power bands.
Sessions are one hour in duration.
I teach at Bodywise Studio, Gwydir Street, Cambridge CB1 2LJ. Sessions are available Tuesdays 2:00 pm to late and more times available on request.

About Me
Hi, I am Jon. I graduated with a BSc in Physics and have worked as an engineer ever since. I am married to a very supportive wife and have two lovely grown-up children. My work interests have always mainly been technical.
I have also been keen on sports. My current interests are pleasure cycling, Olympic-style weightlifting, White Water Kayaking, and Canoe Polo. As well as general keep fit and Pilates.
I was introduced to Pilates when searching for a way to continue Kayaking after an old motorcycling injury aggravated my shoulders, causing pain and immobility.
I was amazed and fascinated by how my body healed by paying attention to it. So much so that I became hooked firstly as a pupil for five years and then taking on Pilates teacher training.
I studied anatomy in my spare time and finally graduated from the Polestar Pilates Comprehensive Studio program in April 2018.
My view is that we are born with a complex and magnificent “soft” machine, our body, but we don’t come with an instruction manual.
Fortunately, Pilates and other movement practices such as Yoga, Feldenkrais, Franklin etc., can help fill that void.
My passion now is helping people to get the best they can from their bodies, move without pain or become as athletic as they want.
